On the 4th of March 2004, a gang of six men armed with machine guns pulled me by my ponytail from the back seat of a taxi.
The First Firefly weaves the true story of the journey that led me to that fateful taxi, how I overcame Post Traumatic Stress Disorder after surviving a string of violent attacks, and why that terrifying event ended up being one of the best things that ever happened to me.
This journey takes the reader from the Californian desert to the mountains of Norway and the rainy plains of Spain… then to the Maya temples of Honduras, the Amazon jungle of Ecuador and through a recovery that took me places I only dreamed of.
I have written 3/4 of the first draft of The First Firefly (working title) and expect it to be ready for publishing by the end of 2019.
